We are used to seeing changes frequently amazing before and after in kitchens and bathrooms in which painting is usually one of the key elements of change.
If the kitchen tiles have become outdated and reveal the passage of time with their borders and patterns, paint them instead of taking the kitchen apart to renovate these tiles it is a very attractive option. The truth is that almost any alternative is better than facing disassembling furniture, chipping tiles, and enduring noise, dust, and annoying debris crossing the house.
Given this alternative it is understood the success of tile painting of recent times. A success that has also contributed to the fact that the market increasingly offers more specific products that facilitate the task. Until not long ago, painting tiles required several products in order to fix the paint properly and for it to be valid for wet areas. Now most paint brands offer products that do not need to apply anything other than paint, without the need for a specific primer product.
Let’s do it. To start, it is convenient to get all the necessary Kit to make the job easier and easier.
Clean and degrease the surfaces well before painting
On the one hand, you have to leaving the walls ready for painting, which implies a thorough cleaning of the tiles and joints. For that, it is enough to clean them with soap and water and, if you live with a lot of lime in your area, a solution of white vinegar for three parts of water will also help you remove the remains of lime.
Finally you have to degrease the tiles. Acetone mixed with water will help you remove grease from tiles and joints well. To clean the joints you can help yourself with an old toothbrush or a metallic strand brush or similar (it is worth it because having more brushing surface will be faster).
This brush is patented for joint cleaning and costs € 12.95

Keep in mind that a careful preparation of the environment, cleaning and degreasing the tiles well and protecting the floor, the furniture, and placing the body tape on the edges and plugs will help to have a better final result.
Let’s think that we are not going to use a product to print the paint because most of the tile paints no longer need it and it is about simplifying the making. Anyway, if you are going to cover a very dark color and prefer an extra help to better cover the color, you can use a primer (like this 39.25 euros) for this type of surface.
Uniproa to the water. Off-road primer.
To apply the paint on tiles, start by covering the delicate areas such as the edges and joints with the round brush. From there you can already paint the paint with the roller in one direction. How minimum You will have to give two coats of paint and between coat and coat let it dry and repaint (the normal thing is to allow 8 hours to pass).
Remember to remove the bodybuilder tape when the paint is still wet after giving each coat, because if not, the paint would dry and when you remove it, the paint would lift.
The next day or at the end of the day, repeat the operation placing the tape again and giving a new hand.

Among the best valued on Amazon we find the Blatemlux paintings and this is its range of colors.

The total painting process will take you at least two days of work because it is normal to give two coats and you have to allow time to dry and ventilate the kitchen well to begin to return to normal in the kitchen.
Once the walls have been painted, they will be like new and to clean them, a damp cloth with soap and water (a little bleach at best) will suffice. Of course, abstain from scouring pads and other hard elements because they will scratch the paint.
And although the market increasingly has a widening range of colors, the normal thing is that you are wanting to paint the kitchen tiles because you are bored of the patterns and the intense colors (very 2000s) so white is still the best for a clean, new kitchen effect, where the walls are not an active part of the decoration.
