Among the unmissable events of the Salone del Mobile 2018, there was certainly EuroCucina: the perfect place to discover new creations related to the kitchen environment. A world in constant evolution pushed more and more by television programs that talk about cooking and that make us all terrible Masterchefs!
Forget the traditional kitchenette with its classic base units and wall units, now the kitchen expands and becomes a real room to live and furnish. Full-height storage walls, appliances with an increasingly technological heart, increasingly elaborate materials and finishes, make the kitchen the new frontier of product design.

This is because companies that manufacture kitchens are now able to satisfy any need, completing the furniture with solutions for the living room and also for the bathroom. There are many brands that are able to offer a rich and complete service but few aesthetic certainties that are able to satisfy an attentive and cultured product design palate – a lot of functionality but little search for new aesthetic challenges.

The only note out of the chorus was represented by a new start-up, the Stand App Kitchen which presented itself with a very iconic and absolutely personal vision of the kitchen world: the transposition of a pop graphic project that becomes furniture, very original!

Returning to the general proposal of the kitchen furniture world of this edition, we found the theme of the backrest very interesting, present in all kitchens and represented by tiles or by a wall strip of the same material as the kitchen top. Here, on the other hand, the back becomes the protagonist, a backdrop a palette to decorate and furnish.

Materials and finishes find great expressiveness given the large dimensions of the exposed backrests or, at best, become real boiserié enriched by storage systems, shelves or accessories fixed to the wall.

The collaboration between Scavolini and Diesel should not be underestimated, even if there are few lexical innovations in the new project compared to the great innovation presented with the Diesel Social Kitchen project.

Barazza, Elica, Samsung, Kitchen Aid and Smeg, on the other hand, showed a technological world that is increasingly attentive to the environment but with a precise brand strategy: getting to the heart of the small Masterchef that resides in each of us. Impossible not to be impressed by the Smeg creations by Dolce & Gabbana.
An out-of-the-box but absolutely personal note was represented by the creations of Officine Gullo that narrate the kitchen overcoming the country style and launching their proposal in a new vision between colonial and Tuscany style.
In the kitchens of the future, a cellar, large or small, cannot be missing, and must be flaunted with the right lighting.

For lovers of closed kitchens covered by prying eyes, Rastelli and Stosa Cucine presented a system of panels that allow the kitchen wall to be opened and closed as needed.
Another must have is the laundry room that has been integrated by Stosa Cucine and becomes part of the space: a functional and flexible idea that allows you to choose whether to use the space as a laundry or as an extraordinary pantry.
