The famous villa in Via Col Vento was built specifically to shoot the film, a Culver City, at Culver Studios. In 1950 the structure was sold but the initial project to make it an amusement park was ruinously wrecked. Starting in 1960, it was used as a western movie set and then dismantled. Historian Peter Bonner promoted the project Saving Tara to rebuild the famous farmhouse of Rossella O’Hara, restoring original furniture and furnishing accessories.
