Svartan it’s a Ikea limited edition collection designed in collaboration with Martin Bergstrom. This line with a dark flavor but typically urban charm is available in all stores starting from October 2016. The line consists of a series of pieces designed to furnish modern homes and places with an industrial chic touch. Svartan is made entirely of India and is made from natural materials and boasts several traditional techniques. That’s why each piece has something unique and exclusive, which makes it look like a real handcrafted element. To connect the materials are the motifs proposed in white, black and gray, proposed on the prints and textures of the fabrics.
“When I arrived in India, I noticed the surprising patina of the surfaces, the structure of the walls and the patterns created by the monsoon rains,” he said. Martin Bergstrom, Swedish designer which also deals with art and fashion. The artist involved 25 students from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in this important project, who created drawings inspired by the places of their land, the most hidden and distant, but also by the motifs and details that represent them.
Within the new 2016 Ikea catalog we find, therefore, some decorative bottles made of mouth blown glass with an angular design and an imperfect touch. They are perfect to place in the living area of your home and perhaps insert a single flower inside them. The folding metal low table with tray shelf, which is characterized by a tone-on-tone motif, is also very nice and practical. In Svartan collection from Ikea there are also two small tables, usable as stools, of different heights, but there are also several rather interesting furnishing fabrics. The duvet cover is very realistic in the print, as well as the plaid, proposed in two sizes. If you wish, you can also buy the fabric by the meter to decorate what you prefer. However, in the collection there are also pillow covers, always with a dark character, carpets, as well as sketchbooks and illustrated cards with envelopes.
