L’Expo 2015 is about to open its doors to the general public but what are the 7 pavilions to visit absolutely? THE Expo pavilions are the fundamental points of the whole event. Let’s see together which are the ones that you absolutely must visit.
Italy Pavilion
At Expo 2015 the first that you absolutely must not miss is the Italy Pavilion, the result of the project by Nemesi & Partners. It is a work that combines technological planning with the experimental and sustainable one. This space includes the Palazzo Italia, located north of the entire fair. It is inspired by the urban forest and has an outer shell that resembles branches hugging each other.
Monaco Pavilion
It is an Expo 2015 pavilion designed by an Italian architect: Enrico Pollini. The facility will welcome people from different access points reflecting on the various focal points that coincide on the field of ecology. The roof is made of wood and there is a sphagnum compound that allows the cultivation of Mediterranean crops. The interior design has been curated by the Facts and Fiction agency, and will have the role of bringing visitors together on a free tour.
France Pavilion
Created by the Parisian studio XTU Architectes, this pavilion is inspired by the covered market, a symbol of French food culture, a key element to best represent the theme of Expo 2015.
United Kingdom Pavilion
The structure is inspired by that of a beehive, an important element of our ecosystem. Design belongs to Wolfgang Buttress, who managed to combine ecological, scientific requirements and elements of agricultural engineering in his creation.
Swiss Pavilion
There Switzerland was one of the first countries to join theUniversal Exposition of Milan and among the first to complete its structure. This will feature a platform with 4 towers filled with food products, which visitors will be able to access via elevators. They will be able to arrive on the towers and take products. As these will empty and the pavilion will be constantly evolving, which can be followed on social networks.
Russia Pavilion
An area of 4 thousand square meters is reserved for the large Russian pavilion. Its design originates from the past Universal Expositions. Everything was done by the Speech studio, led by the architects Sergei Choban, Marina Kuznetskaya and Alexei Ilin.
China Pavilion
The Chinese theme is gratitude and respect for the earth which is nourishment and which allows the life of the human being. The China pavilion at Expo 2015 in Milan aims to remind the philosophy that ‘man is an integral part of nature’.
