Enrico Bartolini Mudec is the new restaurant that the starred chef directs inside the Museum of Cultures. The Tuscan chef was entrusted with the management of the kitchen, which is located on the third floor of the building, but also of the Bistro, located on the ground floor. The architect of taste has completely revolutionized interior design, taking care to give the room, which includes only eight very intimate tables, a contemporary but classic air at the same time. The mood that, in fact, also distinguishes the style of his dishes.
It is not the first time that a restaurant opens in a cultural space such as a museum; already the Moma in New York and the Guggenheim in Bilbao boast a very refined and ‘artistic’ cuisine. Enrico Bartolini opened the doors of Mudec, which we remember is located in the heart of the design district of the city of Milan, Tortona, and the inauguration coincided with the very important exhibition of Mirò. In any case, the two-star Michelin chef wanted a calm and relaxed atmosphere for this environment, with a strong classic and chic look but with contemporary touches and embellished with very few but distinctive pieces of design.
The whole environment is played on White: plays of light and shadows that permeate the large windows with a classic taste color the internal room. The furnishings have a modern touch but are made of dark wood. The tables are small, only eight, and are round, while the seats alternate, from armchairs with padded backs to chairs with a retro touch. This explains the ‘contemporary classic’, an oxymoron that Bartolini himself uses to identify his Milanese restaurant.
Thelighting internal: large gold leaves seem to float from the ceiling, to which are joined by micro LED pendants in cascade. Instead of simple trolleys, the ched wanted real stations that rise from the ground, while the doors are made of silk-screened glass and edges in dark iron. The entrance, on the other hand, is absolutely simple and luxurious at the same time. Lights applied to the walls bring out the name of the Tuscan chef placed above the reception, which is characterized by a classic style white solid wood desk.
There is no shortage of decorations always provided on the walls, like butterflies and other works, while on the tables there is great simplicity, with minimal cutlery, glasses and plates and a single flower holder to give a touch of color. In our gallery you can see photos of the interiors of the Enrico Bartolini’s Mudec restaurant. If you want to drop by, remember that it is located in via Tortona in Milan.
