Memorabilia design was born from an idea of collecting the greatest design pieces made by the most famous Italian and foreign designers. In view of theExpo 2015 which has food as its theme, one was proposed collection of useful items to collect that have to do with the table and the culinary culture. By making contact with the most important existing designers and with the foundations that take care of preserving and making known the drawings of the missing minds, Desigh Memorabilia has created De Gustibus Collection in collaboration with the Triennale of Milan. In fact, each object is characterized by the famous red T, which is the institution’s trademark.
Very important names in the world of design have collaborated on this special project, including Gae Aulenti, who created for the De Gustibus Collection Argento Flatware, precious flatware with a flattened shape, Mario Bellini with Stella Chopsticks colored polycarbonate sticks, e Cini Boeri, who contributed with Mug & Biscotti Plate, a milk cup with carry-over saucer that is used not only to put the biscuits but also to cover the cup itself and keep the contents warm.
Several vases enrich the De Gustibus collection by Design Memorabilia, such as the Profile Vase of Andrea Branzi, featuring a very distinctive designed neck, and the Trio Bud Base of Angelo Mangiarotti, and there are also candle holders, from that of Gianfranco Frattini to the Girachille by Achille Castiglioni, a project never produced before. Do not miss the amazing and colorful Italian Landscape line by Aldo Cibic, which includes salt and pepper, toothpick holder and trays, the Icicle Ice Bucket, a Rodolfo Dordoni, or even Piero Lissoni’s Salt & Pepper duo.
The distribution of accessories designed to support and celebrate theExpo 2015 it is limited to the best design shops, mostly Milanese bookstores, ai museum shop, like that of MoMa, and at the points of sale of the universal exposition. In addition, it is also possible to buy the design pieces on some e-commerce sites and on the Design Memorabilia one. There are about 32 and almost all within the reach of most; in fact the cost is contained below 100 euros.
