Until 25 September 2011, the MAXXI in Rome hosts the exhibition entitled “Carlo Scarpa and the shape of words”, entirely dedicated to the graphics of Carlo Scarpa (1906-1978). It is a truly unmissable event to discover more closely the work of one of the greatest masters of the twentieth century. The exhibition looks in particular at his font design and the layout of the writings in the architectures and printed works of the great architect.
“Carlo Scarpa and the shape of words” is the title of the exhibition entirely dedicated to the great master Carlo Scarpa and hosted at the MAXXI museum of Rome until 25 September.
On display you can admire works that cover Scarpa’s entire professional activity and that demonstrate how all the architectural typologies he is confronted with also engaged him as a designer of scriptures. Most of the drawings exhibited belongs to the MAXXI Architettura Archives Center, but several works also come from public and private collections in the Veneto region.
