Decorating the bathrooms at Casa Decor always seems to me to be one of the most complicated exercises that participating interior designers must perform. They must be attractive, but also functional, since they are areas for public use, and not mere exhibition areas like the rest of the spaces in the house.
This year, Among my favorite bathrooms is the one designed by Soledad Ordoñez Giordano. His proposal is totally different from the previous editions of Casa Decor in which he has participated, and that is greatly appreciated for his capacity for innovation.
Space, enveloping and comfortable, has been conceived by this interior designer as a place in which to unite design, innovation and beauty, with accessibility. Because, and this is a very important detail, this bathroom is accessible to everyone, thanks to the braille messages, sounds, lights, since everything in the space has a special touch.
Starting from a game that mixes textures, volumes and geometric shapes, decorative chains, or materials such as wood, copper, rattan, or stone (one of the hallmarks of the studio), the space is a festival of sensations.
From the outset, the strength of the space draws attention thanks to its materials, and the harmonious mix that Soledad Ordoñez makes of them. The natural oak panels, combined with frames of the same material, integrating brass, and Kristadecor chains.
To favor accessibility, the space is unfurnished, except for two pieces designed by Soledad herself: the Petit Marabio cabinet, one of the most exclusive pieces in this interior designer’s signature collection, or the Khalo console, talso designed by her.
The wall made with paneling and herringbone pattern by Orac Decor, a firm that has also been in charge of the moldings and cornices of the space, also stands out.
Inside, in the bathroom cabinets, Soledad has used three colors combined with brass. In these spaces, the use of one of the latest Cosentino novelties stands out, a Dekton stone with a textured finish, while Axor pieces have been chosen for the taps.
What did you think of this space at Casa Decor 2021, and the fascinating use it makes of materials, textures and volumes?
