The kitchen has always been the heart of the house. A concept that we had put aside a bit in recent years due to the pace of life and that kitchens increasingly reduced their size.
When I was little the kitchen was lived intensely. In addition to having breakfast in the kitchen, he had a snack, did his homework and “was in the kitchen” where he also welcomed his closest relatives. A concept that makes a comeback thanks to the kitchens open to the living room (more than the living room, they open up to coexistence) and to new concept of kitchen dining room, which consists of leaving the living room only as a living area and stealing space to make a larger kitchen that includes a dining room. But one of those beautiful ones that can be eaten daily and for special occasions.
This year’s tour of the kitchens of Casa Decor 2021, – in which at the level of style everything fits. confirms this trend. Whether classic, modern or elegant, they all have in common an island that connects them with the rest of the house. The other common denomination of the kitchens in this edition is The sustainability that is noticeable in the use of more sustainable materials but also, it is incorporating plants into the kitchen. Which includes in some cases having a small vertical garden that includes the most used plants in the kitchen. Parsley is no longer bought. It is sown. And the same with basil, thyme …
The most urban kitchen with palilleria and stone
On the second floor to the left is a kitchen designed by the interior designer Urban Pink, with a central island around which the rest of the furniture is organized and that ends in a practical dining room.
The island combines a wooden furniture made of palillería, and a quartzite countertop from Naturamia, a brand of Levantina, that has been cut and worked in detail for various applications: from furniture frames and skirting boards to the foot of the dining table or the swivel piece as a serving hatch.
The dining table is at one end and is based on a backlit stone base. Around the table, some boucle fabric chairs.
The most classic and timeless kitchen
Beatriz Sánchez and Eva Martín, from Dosde Interiorismo, they transformed one of the spaces on the third floor into a kitchen that they have called “A kitchen of their own”, because it is inspired by the world of Virginia Wolf.
Under a spectacular biophilic installation of Guguiarte made with natural, organic and sustainable materials, the interior designers organized the kitchen with Delamora, in two different finishes: in green, the cabinets that are attached to the walls, and in pink, for the central island. In both cases, they were combined with Naturamia’s Carrara marble countertop, also made of Levantina. From the same company, it is the impressive checkerboard floor: Techlam porcelain tiles, Opium Black Y Jasper white.
The walls were covered with polyurethane plates that imitate wood, of Panespol System, same as the ceiling beams.
The combination of plants, wood, checkerboard flooring and the impressive sink create a timeless effect, almost as if time has stood still or does not matter in this warm and enveloping space.
A modular, sustainable and vibrant kitchen
The architect Paula rosales presents in this edition a line of ecological kitchen furniture –toxic-free–, bio-healthy and customizable. It is a modular storage system that adapts to space and people so that it can move in with you, just like your favorite furniture.
It consists of a base structure, a removable interior distribution and offers front panel possibilities in many materials and colors, always bio-healthy. In this case, a bright and intense yellow was chosen, which was tinged with white brushstrokes. Among these brushstrokes, the one of the sink and the faucet stand out, both of Franke.
The island has the new countertop SapienStone Platinum White, which integrates an innovative induction hob that allows you to cook directly on its surface.
The end result is that of a modern, vibrant and very cheerful kitchen that will give you a kick of good energy every day.
The best integrated kitchen
The interior designer Manuel Espejo has designed a space that he has called “Kitchen for Living” -all a declaration of intentions-. In it has projected a kitchen open to the living room with a fresh, functional and very elegant interior design, and an island as a breakfast bar, made by Rio Kitchens, that delimits the living room and kitchen environments.
Although there are not enough square meters, the kitchen is small but functional (it does not lack even the Thermomix) and they stand out in it the mirror finish of your furniture, a resource with which light and meters are multiplied. The effect is elegant and sophisticated. A style very suitable for urban flats
Made of wood and with vertical garden
Delta Kitchens presents us, by the hand of Jose Manuel Gomez, an impressive kitchen made with toxic free materials and with finishes water-based varnished.
The space is organized around a great central island, that combines a metallic structure with handcrafted solid oak wood doors finished in smoked ash with a metallic linear handle. Next to the island, the main wall cabinet is made of ash and has with two impressive mirrored glass doors that creates a series of games of transparency and opacity by playing with LED lighting.
In this space stands out a ceiling decorated with dried plants and a closet that includes n vertical hydroponic garden fully digitized to self-supply plants while cooking.
A sustainable luxury, increasingly integrated into the home.
