Strolling around Gaia, the spectacular kitchen designed by As Interiorista for Casa Decor 2020

We take a trip to one of the most spectacular kitchens of the last edition of Casa Decor 2020. Gaia is the name of this kitchen with Moretti furniture that coexists in the space dominated by a large olive tree, with vintage furniture and handcrafted pieces. A mix that works that well thanks to the Ace Interiorista team.

That of 2020 has been one of the best editions of Casa Decor of recent times. This edition has temporarily closed its doors due to the health crisis we are experiencing but while we are still confined at home (there is one day left), it is worth taking a virtual trip through one of its most outstanding spaces. Until the time came when we could do it personally.

Ten reasons why it is worth visiting the new edition of Casa Decor 2020

In the course of this year their kitchens deserve special mention and among all of them stands out this project not only for its design but for the sensations that the space transmits. An elegant space but close to the earth, to the artisan, to the important.

The kitchen furniture and appliances are integrated into a wall with floor-to-ceiling furniture, which mixes showcase cabinets with blue paneled cabinets and a spectacular large island with sink and cooking area.

Following the island, and at a lower height, a large marble table has been installed surrounded by restored and reupholstered vintage chairs. Between the island and the table a large olive tree presides and shades both spaces.

The ceramic pieces, the clays, the wood and the porcelain cover the rest of the space in a mixture that breathes and works very well.

Adriana Somoza and Caridad Tercero, (or As Interiorista) explain that for the design of this kitchen they were inspired by Lovelock’s theory, which affirms that the presence of life on earth fosters adequate conditions for the maintenance of the biosphere. This means that the planet is alive and is a complex organism in itself so a space will only achieve its balance when surrounded by external factors that favor its harmony.

This project represents Mother Earth as a generator of life through the elements of nature. The gold of the furniture symbolizes the color of the sun, which together with the rain represented by the porcelain in thin strips that covers the fireplacemake it grow life in our olive tree, which fills the space with the green of its leaves and the wood of its branches.

And this is how the kitchen becomes a place where life grows and where you can find your best refuge.
