There Serpentine Gallery in London, famous for giving the world, every year, an ephemeral pavilion designed by a great architect, as long as she has never worked in England, before that moment she recently completed her sixth long weekend, a event artistic which is configured as one of the most interesting of recent times. This year the topic was dedicated to a ‘Marathon Garden‘, exploring the creative connections between design and the natural world.
The idea for the event was conceptually derived from the 2011 pavilion, which the Serpentine Gallery requested from the archistar Peter Zumthor, which practically created an airtight building on the outside, with a garden in the center.
International architects, landscape architects and artists meet at the event and each of them, in different ways, proposes a personal way of exploring the literal and metaphorical importance of the garden either through space, urban planning methods, or in a scientific way. Poets and writers will be present and will give their version of the theme through a series of readings, exploring the meaning of the garden.
