Finally, it is up to Karim Aïnouz to rattle off the life that takes place every day inside the Center Pompidou.
The six buildings chosen represent gods temples of knowledge, meeting centers, places considered treasures of collective memory. The six episodes, which make up the film Cathedrals of 3D Culture, narrate all this, revealing the soul enclosed within the walls of each of the selected buildings. The project by Wim Wenders it is precisely this, to give voice to the key buildings of human history. The director is sure of it, thanks also to the strong success of PINA 3D, a tribute to the dance of Pina Bausch, German choreographer and dancer.
“It was fortunate to discover the new language of 3D cinema through PINA, a work whose subject had an enormous affinity with the technology we were using. It was logical and necessary to use three-dimensionality. Through these experiences I have developed the very clear opinion that in the field of documentary 3D represents a huge step forward and can really take the genre to a totally higher level. The incredible advantage for documentaries is an amplified immersion that puts the viewer, as never before, ‘inside a place’, allowing him to perceive architecture, for example, as an experience in a real space ”.
