La Murrina is an Italian company that has a catalog of lamps and furnishing accessories born thanks to the skilful processing of blown glass. The creation of these prestigious objects created by great designers such as Fabrizio Giugiaro, Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas, Matteo Thun, the Sottsass studio, Marco Piva and Karim Rashid gave life to a brand known all over the world. From a small furnace there has therefore been an evolution with a company that today boasts products distributed in Italy and in the most prestigious cities in the world.
It is 1968 and Murano sees the birth of La Murrina, a company that thanks to a Milanese industrialist from the mid-70s undergoes a renewal that will lead it to become a brand known also internationally.
The production has been enriched over the years with new product lines that today see different catalogs.
The proposals dedicated to lighting are divided into Selected Collection and the Daily Collection. The production of decorative objects for the home see the catalog Classic Contemporary Objects and the Gift and Ideas. The most precious worked objects are present in the proposals Luxury, but there is also a catalog for the Contract.
Every piece of furniture signed La Murrina guarantees a manual realization using the Murano’s glass. From chandeliers to vases, from sculptures to glasses, art joins the skill of glass masters and gives life to products where beauty is generated by the transparency of colors and the sinuosity of shapes. The skill of the Murano masters blends with the design of modern creatives, guaranteeing excellent results.
This is the case of the Swarovski Medusa designed by Marcello Albini, a chandelier fascinating and precious that knows how to give the environment a magical and dreamy atmosphere. Here the wonder of handcrafted blown glass takes on a new brightness thanks to the combination of Swarovski crystal drops and together they give life to an almost hypnotic marine creature.
With a more contemporary but equally fascinating design is Tattoo, the glass chandelier designed by Marco Piva whose simple and elegant sinuous shape blends with a geometric decoration that takes up the tradition of murrine. The design of the shapes is applied hot in the glass, and the basic contrast of black and white comes to life in a contemporary design.
Who chooses a product La Murrina he knows he owns a work of art born from the hand of masters who, with skill and patience, transform a fluid mixture into high quality precious objects.
