DIY water or oil candles
Create some DIY water candles in the house it is easy and we can use recycled material such as old light bulbs, cans, jars and glass jars, but also fruit.

We will also need thevegetable oil and of wicks purchasable in any DIY store.
Materials needed to make DIY water candles
- Vegetable oil for candles.
- Wicks.
- Water.
- Recycled container: old light bulb, canning jar, fruit.
Optional:
- Colored stones.
- Sand.
- Vacuform sheets.
Procedure for making water candles
- First we take the glass jar or the bulb or a hollow fruit and pour colored stones, sand or other elements impermeable to water inside to give color to our creation.
- Insert a wick between the stones or in the sand, letting it come out 1 cm beyond the height of the container.
- We gently pour the water into the jar so as not to change the arrangement of the elements in the jar, filling about 2/3 of the height.
- At this point we pour the vegetable oil on the surface of the water until a small uniform layer is created.
- Our water candle is ready.
If desired, wicks can be used in suspension, ie fixed on Vacuform sheets floating on the water.
