The minimal style it is very trendy for interior design, especially when it comes to the bathroom. Accomplices Instagram and Pinterest, we are more and more used to seeing environments perfectly furnished with the bare minimum, with few colors and clean lines that convey a great sense of tranquility and order. Of great inspiration, however, sometimes it is difficult to replicate in our homes thanks to small spaces or needs related to furniture to contain linen and products.
To furnish the bathroom in a minimal style you have to follow some rules: in order not to completely distort the existing furniture, they can be applied a little at a time, trying to adapt them and renewing the accessories in this perspective.

The ban on color
Minimal is synonymous with absence of color: white and light beige characterize the walls and furniture. No patterns and geometric motifs (allowed only if discreet), the surfaces are solid colors or made with blocks of uniform natural material, making the atmosphere even more rarefied and relaxing.
The however, there is a risk that the bathroom becomes totally aseptic, almost from a hotel room: you have to know play with colors and textures and not to fossilize on a single shade, combining more or less cold tones with white.
Prefer edges to curves
The lines straight and regular they are typical of the minimal style and obviously also apply to the bathroom. The details and shapes must be as angular and straight as possible for bathroom fixtures (better if suspended and not bulky), mirrors and cabinets.
The risk of an excessive “hardness” of the whole can be avoided by opting for some softer element.

The bare essentials
It wouldn’t be called minimal if it wasn’t all reduced to the bone, including finishes. In fact, “rough” objects and accessories are preferable without borders or frames or that they are very thin and in the same color. The shower and furniture doors are bare or concealed, perfectly integrated into the environment so as not to stand out to the eye.
But not only that: also the amount of furniture must be reduced to the essentials, which may clash with our needs to keep towels, hygiene products, etc. in the bathroom. Therefore, in this case, it is better to opt for large drawer units without handles: the larger they are, the more they will blend in with their relatives, while concealing everything we want inside them. Better instead give up suspended furniture that break the minimal harmony.
Light is everything
Light furnishes the bathroom, but to do so its source must be Invisible: the minimalist bathroom wants a system of integrated lighting or whose origin is concealed. Otherwise you can opt for gods discreet spotlights or for chandeliers-not chandeliers: simple fall from the ceiling with essential or completely non-existent lampshades that leave only the light bulb exposed.
