The lockdown and the prolongation of “agile work” have therefore given our homes the responsibility to welcome work in an environment that has always been dedicated to our private life. We have all learned how to make the most of tools, including video calls, telematic conferences and tools to organize workflow, such as Google Drive and tools to manage work from home.

The Italians have increased purchases of accessories and useful tools for working from home
Italians, therefore, have begun to rethink living spaces, making them more “smart working friendly“. In 2020, for example, on eBay have increased by 49%, a rather significant figure, the purchases of products to set up workstations at home. The request for docking station for PCs, for example, it marked a + 85%. Another incredible increase was that recorded by keyboards is mouse, which scored a + 176% compared to 2019. In addition, requests for printers and plotter (+ 32.8%) e cartridges and paper (+ 51.5%).
Strong interest also in “space-saving” furniture
As for the age groups, the one that has shown the greatest interest in smart working products is the one that goes from 25 ai 44 years old, but also those aged 45 to 65 who have bought a total of more than 172 thousand products.

Furthermore, during the lockdown, requests are increased for all those objects that are used to hold in order the living spaces. Among these we find: space-saving baskets (+ 39.8%), clothes stand (+ 35.4%) e shoe racks (+ 34.4%). But also: containers and boxes (+ 27.7% e wardrobe solutions (+ 25.6%).
