Like any do-it-yourself job worthy of the name we must, once the project has been defined, prepare ours toolbox: what to put inside? We tell you:
- stick of wood glue
- screwdriver manual or electric
- self-tapping screws
- clamps
- hacksaw alternative
- sandpaper
- bracket
- pencil.

For wood, on the other hand, if you have a project that embellishes your outdoor space you will need a weatherproof material: teak. If you have in mind of furnish your living room you can think of more delicate materials such as pine or maple with an added value linked to the lower expenditure to be faced.
We offer you a project that includes a double session, for this they will be enough few wooden planks but of the right size:
- 6 planks for scaffolding for conform the armrests: 20-22 wide, 70 cm long
- 7 histones of 115 cm for back and seat
- 1 plank to finish the top edge of the back always 115 cm
- 2 planks of 66 cm by 6.5 cm for the edging of the arms
- 2 planks 62.5 cm long by 5 cm wide to use as supports for the seat
- 2 planks how front support of the seat of 6.7 cm by 5 cm
- 2 planks 42cm long by 5cm wide like backrest support
- 2 planks 66 cm long x 5 cm wide to make the feet of the structure.

Making a DIY bench: the whole process
Now the fun begins: materials and tools in hand, let’s put imagination and the right manual skills and the results will not disregard expectations. Follow the right process to assemble though. Let’s start from the left side of the bench: align three planks and drill holes for the screws. With screwdriver and screws fix the foot and then the finish of the left armrest. Finally the seat support.
Then let’s move on to the right side repeating the same operations that we made for the left one. Make sure thethe angle of the backrest is the one desired. A suggestion? 13 degrees and it will be perfect! Finally clean the surface well is paint with the color you prefer.
For an extra touch, here are some original ideas
